    E-waste prices

I just want to make a point. Many places had jacked up there price on e-waste to alittle more than what I was willing to pay when gold was at 1800 and 1900! I simply would like to say....as there price drop on e-waste...my price is the same. never dropped.

Good thing with dealing with a person with me...gold goes up...I wont jump to change my price...but when gold drops I wont be dropping my price like a bolder in water.

That happens alot...and they plan on that...they will have a high price...an when you ship it and they pay out...the payout is lower than what they stated...reason being to some "metal" drop or something else costing more. My prices stay about the same for amount of time.

When you send off stuff, sell a small load of your items... like 10 - 20 lbs of motherboards. See how you are treated before you commit to anyone. There are a few places to pick from. Some buyers even pay before you ship. But, it's all a trust thing. If you find a good buyer they will keep you happy because you keep them happy... and besides that, they can always dispute the payment with paypal if you screw them over... so trust is a good thing.

Best thing would be to find a good buyer close enough that you can just load a huge trailer and make the trip and get paid on the spot for your items... kinda like we do in scrap yards... to bad for me there is nothing close to here that does that.... maybe I will have to start doing that myself (you know... buying stuff from locals).

Easy. You are a large buyer. How much, on average, does a gaylord of motherboards weigh? I just need a number so I can plug it into the shipping calculators. I need to figure out if there is much savings shipping pallets LTL or just usps more often with small loads.

    Thanks!

I have one gaylord that is 3/4full an its over 550pounds as of right now.

Sometimes you can only get 500pounds in a gaylord...other times you can get as much as 800pounds. Its all based on the type of board and how its stacked into the box.

I would agree with Easy. A full gaylord of boards generally weight in the 500lb range. If you stack boards nicely you can get closer to 800-1000lbs in a good size gaylord. Power supplies will seem to always be over 650lbs and can get up to 1200-1300lbs. Floppies will hover in the 1300lb range and a full gaylord of hard drives will weigh 1500lbs or more. If you would ever get a full box of memory they usually hover in the 1300lbs range. That is a fun box, haha.

OMG. 1300 lbs of memory at $12.50 would be over $16,000. Right now I have 5 sticks. Yeah, it will be a while, I'll get back to ya on that one. LOL

OO thank you...I saw my address label on them boxes....when are you going to be sending them out to me??

Filling a box full of memory can take some time....I love it when I can just buy a full gaylord and flip it around in a day or so!

Haha, I get dealer prices right. No, we are a small operation and will generally produce anywhere from 5000-8000lbs of boards a month. We mainly deal with larger companies, schools, hospitals and the like to generate our materials. As well as buy from the public and other recyclers. But we buy a lot of memory from some connections we have and generally get around 500lbs on a monthly basis.

I'm just getting into this ewaste thing. Been scrapping all my life but ewaste is new. Got about 80 pounds of boards right now and it's going up weekly. Don't know how to grade them and running out of storage space quickly.

You can e-mail our office at sales@easyrecycles.com with some photos and we will grade them and let you know what we will pay per pound for each item.

Not quite set up with the ability to easily take pics yet but will be soon. In my area there are lots of discarded electronics. Most scrappers get the ready copper out of electronics and throw the rest away. I want to recycle the whole thing. Every screw/everything.
I understand there are "light" boards and "populated" boards.

When it comes down to e-scrap there is low grade(tv,monitor, vcr, dvd circuit boards), mid grade(satellite receiver) and hi grade(computer mother boards, all the slot cards, memory, server boards, hard drive boards, and others. This is not a complete listing, but just a starter for you to get started with. Others will add to the list I'm sure,,,
