    Need some advice on freight

Alright, so we have the opportunity to pickup a mass quantity of electronic items and I do not want to pass it up. The issue is the fact that the items are several states away.

I ran the numbers and it would not be cost effective for me to rent a truck and send one of my employees by the time I figure in the rent, gas, food and lodging for the employee.

So I would like some advice on how to find and hire a freight company. This is new territory for me and I know that there are a lot of members with a lot of knowledge to share so I am here to pick your brains on this one.

I know that years ago they used to do "shared freight" where companies were not able to fill a load and would share the cost of the load with another company. Is this still the case?

Yes, it's called LTL - Less Than a Truckload. Look up "LTL Freight" and check a couple companies. That should give you an idea.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

    freightquote.com

Ask for Demond Glynn and he'll hook you up. He shipped an engine for me one time at a silly silly cheap rate. He'll get quotes from all of the major players.
