    to all the noobs:

we are more then happy to help any one out , especially new folks. but there are some hard fast rules to any business success, especially this one.

!. take the time and courtisy to introduce your self.

    2. beginner questions are some times looked upon by us old crochity folks as a neusence, so have the curtisy to use the search and archives. all the obvious questions and answers are there.

    3. many of us do this full time as our only business or source of income. so some questions are trade secrets just like any other business, we all had to learn some of it on our own.

sweat equity is easily and gladly shared, sweat and blood equity may not be. Many times I see questions here that are just common sence, if you dont have any of that dont bother, you are wasting your time and ours.

sry just felt this needed to be said. just my .02

e cycling is a little different, and still relitivly new, so there are more questions likely to come up. still you have business secrats I would like to find out, as do we all.

the kind of question I was really refering to was one like this. where do I find computers. and who do you sell to ?

Everyone should listen close this is an old dude and wise in the ways.

Really though, I think this is something that needs to be said. After all, we are all professionals here and should be able to help ourselves for the most part.

True, but in reality the only actual secret that no one will ever really share is people on here who buy scrap metal or ewaste stating who they sell too.

Also, you are correct some think this is just a hobby, but in reality as you mentioned, this is how some people make their full time income.

Adam welcome and sorry some times it falls in the cracks. But I sure do hope you enjoy your time here and that you can grow with alot of the good scrappers here. Or if you run a yard like some of us scrap dealers in here. I hope you learn what you need to so you can build up your yard and be able to do more with less money.

Torker, If you would like that at the bottom of every post (kinda like Easy's business name) at the very top where you log in, go to settings, 3rd box down on the left says settings, just click on the edit signature, fill it in with your stuff and it'll be there.

This should be a sticky, or even a little article that pops up on the registration page

Can anyone tell me how to harvest copper from an old monitor? I was told there is about 50 dollars worth in there.

I don't know about that. There are some tips and tricks that I wont share with anybody, the ones I had to learn the hard way. But that is just me. Business is business, and I cant make money if I tell every Tom, ****, and Harry how to do everything that I do. They will take my advice and fine a way to undercut me and I will be left out in the cold.

Might be true if they are local to you, or even much larger to you and buy nationwide.

However, if they are not bigger and not local, shouldn't really matter.

Only secrets ever though as mentioned is if you are a BUYER and you are selling to an end buyer. Not like one of the yards here who sells to my yard, and then in turn sell to their END buyer.

Other than that, the only thing I can think of in regards to secrets is how you might tear something apart etc
