Copper Drop In Price Good .....

Copper drop in price good for me that is! As fall brings in cooler weather work in the HVAC biz slows to a halt.

Up to this point I have never went looking for scrap. There was no need to. I just bring my work home with me so to say. A few systems a week was great giving me a great bonus.

But as things slow down this season I will use money from the good times and buy units from other HVAC companies. Being the price looks like it is going to tank I will have the advantage! I hoarded and sold at a good time all of my copper, I also hoarded the money! I will be able to buy cheap and sit on it. The prices may continue to go down but at some point they will rebound. I will just wait it out.

Yours is an example of the advantages to being in control of your lifestyly/expenses. The one great truth "spend less than you make and you will never be broke". I am still getting my financil act together but I have the right attitude. I mostly buy electric motors from a fellow scrapper and break them down. The slight drop in the price of motors will not make much of a difference and even 60 cent/lb drop in copper will not make a change in my life. It does motivate me to hold for now. Thanks for your insights Joe. Best to all, Mike.

Thank you Mike. I hope you are in the position to save and or hold at this point. The numbers teeter back and forth each day but still they are dropping over all.

Soon people will be giving scrap away for it's not worth the effort! But as history shows us in the long run the value will return and increase. Not saying how long but at some point it will happen!

Yep, a friend of mine recently told me that the Superintendant of Schools in our county resigned to become a scrapper when she was in high school. It was 1945.
