Well it just means that a lot of stuff will have to have receipts and such. Bill of Sale..things of this nature...

However, The a/c unit thing is kind of stupid. If you try to recycle the a/c unit you cant. You need a receipt of purchase. I mean wth? I understand the need to combat thieves but whats to stop them from making fake signatures on fake receipt's that you can purchase at any store which sells this type of paper work.

EXACTLY ! Just like 90% or better of the 800,000 + laws and regs, they are only going to effect the honest person trying to scratch by. little or no effect with the yards. none what so ever on the tweekers and thieves. only on the middle people and the sis scrappers.

Vote and vote often, become involved in how this country, states and cities are run instead of just wishing it was different. No middle of the road crap either, commit once you have educated yourself. And lastly...Party trumps policy, there is one group of politicians that votes this stuff in more then the other so you will reduce the risk of these laws by having that party in power. My views, take it or leave it but be involved.

Hurts everyone I run a small recycling yard and customers are going crazy. I've lowered my price per pound for A/C units and Refers by 80% just to pay for the tech to stay on site to remove the freon. Some customers have already gone to other scrap yards just to sell the units whole to get away with it.

like I said new laws and regs only hurt the honest. over 40,000 new laws and regs last year alone.

Since I posted yesterday about this I did some research and am a bit perplexed why Texas of all states is passing legislation that one usually sees in California or Washington state etc...If Perry is saying that government needs to get out of the way, a veto would have spoke volumes in this case.

Is this a law that is in effect or being considered? I own about a ton of burnt telephone wire that I've had for years. Looks like this says it's not legal to sell it anymore. Good thing I live next to Mexico so I can keep selling my car batteries over there too.

The thing about Perry is that he's a democrat playing republican. So he's already susceptible to such policies.

It's funny how they tell you to be green and recycle all the time and then try to make you feel like a criminal when you go to the scrapyard. If they are going to make people jump thru hoops eventually people will just stop recycling.
