    You on going Investments

Just wanted to ask what are your on going investments and or planned investments both good and bad.

Here are some of my bad investments,

Boat restore project...big one...still have it lol
Loaned money to a e-waste company that I was buying from when they feel onto had times....they never was able to get back out of the hole they where in...lost on that deal.

And...thats about all I can think of..not to many bad investments. And now my good investments

My company would be first one.
first trailer and now the 2ed trailer
    Diesel truck
    Running Bio Diesel
    Smart phone
    LCD repair
    Buying and reselling laptops
    Website
    This website

And now the investments that I am working on now and or planning on.

Starting a retail shop for computers
    TV repair
    Desktop repair
Trucking/day work (I have two trucks and two trailers..no reason why I cant send one out to make some cash)
    Starting a new website

And that's all of them really. What where some of your bad, good and new upcoming investments?

True dat...got a 26' Nova II w/400s in it. I look at it as therapy.

    Worst investment...
    The ex wives!
    NASCAR collectable cars
    Alcohol...never made any money drinking.

    Best investment...
    My two girls.
    The house
    My career

and hopefully my new endeavors in scrapping.

yea boats are risky..I thought it would be a simple repair...turned into a very large rebuild. I had two other boats that I picked up an was able to sell so I took a risk an lost out

Worst investment EVER - I was plowing snow in the winter and decided I could make a fortune if I offered sanding. Bought a five year old '96 one-ton Chevy dually flatbed with a 6.5TD and an 8ft sander. Total cost $30,000. After the first year, the truck broke down almost every time I went out. Kept throwing the PMD ($2000 repair). Three were under factory warranty. Fourth one, I bought an aftermarket for a few hundred, got the truck running and sold them both. Figured up that for the $30,000 "investment", I made less than $1000 from sanding.

Best investment - buying 60 acres of woodland where I live now. Paid $60,000 for five acres that were developed with a house, garage and a couple outbuildings. Then paid $2,500 for the rest (55 acres of mixed woods). Cleared a couple acres for a new house/garage. Every couple years, I have a timber sale for a couple thousand each time. Cut four to five cords of hardwood each year for the woodstove. Saves a couple thousand in heating cost plus does a good job of heating the basement and main floor floors.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

That's for sure. But this year, I had someone come in with a skidder for the timber sale and he pulled up the hardwood in exchange for some firewood for himself. Then I hired a guy with a firewood processor to cut and split it for me. But I still got exercise loading it in the tractor bucket and unloading by the basement door.

    The best:

    Wife and kid
spending 100k to really expand the business with chopping machines and separators.
    some of my stocks

    The worst:
I bought stock in a company that was going to sell on ebay. What they were was a franchise chain that would have brick and morter stores. People would bring in the product and they would leave it there on consignment. I thought it was a no brainer. I spent, 10k on it and it was filing BK within a month.

I once had an opportunity to invest in Microsoft as an IPO. I didn't think it was worth much. I have to work for the rest of my life because of it.
