I don't think this has ever been a topic here and I just replied to someone about something long this line.
In short having good time management is good to make sure you stay on profit and that you make the money you need to on a day to day deal.
In short. How much time are you worth? Take that number and / it by 60 minutes and then times that by how long it takes you to do blank. Now when you times that is it worth your time or not? Here is what I am talking about.
A computer (something I know very well)
A computer can make around $5 dollars profit EASY even when you BUY them like I do.
So is it worth braking apart or selling whole? Well how long does it take me? I am a pro when it comes to braking one apart so about 5mins to do that.
So I will take what I am worth (per my last job when I worked for the "man" ) at $28 an hour. So 28 / 60 = 0.46 so 0.46 x 5 = $2.3 to brake the computer apart each. At 5mins per computer is 12computers an hour. So total cost in brake down is $28 So what is your profit...take the $5 and - your hour rate per computer of 2.3 and your left $2.7 total over 12 computers = $32.4 net profit for the company. That 32.4 will cover the cost of fuel, over head and so on.
Hope this is simple to understand. I never went to school for this so this is just something I learned on my own so it may not be dead on. But it works for me and I have learned what is worth my time and what is NOT worth my time.
