If you have a business account through a bank many of them offer credit card service for very reasonable fees.
With working with your bank if a problem should arise you can take your paper work with you and walk right in and talk face to face with a representative.
Auction house I do a lot of business with offers that discount so I always take advantage.Quote:

Paying with a card also makes bookkeeping a lot easier! Just be sure to pay off what you charge at the end of period and don't hold a balance!

I have always accepted CC, but it was always done via Paypal.com. Since I require to be paid at completion of a job, paypal.com is not always useful.
I am sure square, or the other firm I signed up with, will increase business a lot for me in 2012 for sure.
I never have had any other CC other than our check cards. To much hassle and issues for me.

Thanks for this thread, I have been thinking about getting one of these for awhile. Sometimes people have to run to the bank and get money, or they dont pay for everything to get removed because they dont have the money. If I have a credit card reader I feel I can get a lot more business.
I read a personal finance book awhile back and it talked about how in the 1990's (I believe it was the 90's) Grocery stores started to offer store credit cards. They offered them for the convenience and for the extra support to buy goods at their store if the person didnt have the money. But, they also found out that even the people that would pay their monthly balance in full every month on their credit card, these people would buy more groceries with a credit card opposed to paying cash. There is something physiological about counting your cash and then handing it over to someone to pay for something, you are a little more cautious about what you spend with cash.
I dont mean to sound manipulative in wanted a credit card reading for my customers rather, it will be useful for those customers that like to haggle the price down when the price is already at a fair price. Maybe if they have a credit card they wont be too worried about haggling over that $20-$40.
Since I began accepting cc I find a lot more people hire me.
You can buy the things in a lot of places now. Saw on the other day at a Rite-Aid.
