Is business slow or is It just me

Is business slow for others right now too. I haven't got a call in two weeks.

God is great, scrap is good, and people are crazy

Its better to be scrapping and thinking of God than sitting in church thinking of scrapping

No, it has slowed for me too. And with so many folks doing this there is only so much to go around.

Welcome to winter!!! No matter where you live when its winter time people tend to stay indoors even in the south. Wait till march it will start to pick up again for you I hope. The current economic conditions don't seem to help much either.

From an e-scrap point of view it is the end of the year stuff that companies must do to get ready for the coming year. Most of our corporate clients virtually shut down until after the first to get things prepared, like their new budget and so on. we received a mass amount of calls throughout December but they all wanted to wait until after January 1st before we picked the stuff up so they had time to get their other stuff done. Many of them are getting new systems for the year as well, making it smarter to wait.

Yea this time of year is real dead and not much one can do about it to be truthful...just relax and rest up when you can.

I have been about the same, had some customers wanting X-mas cash. I expect more beer cans after the 1st!! More than the usual amount of dead cars..cold weather killing head gaskets on the GM V-6's. Love them cats!

Hasn't slowed down for me. Not as many autos or a.c.'s right now, but for some reason a huge pick up in light iron, appliances, t.v.'s, etc. You know, the stuff you gotta put more work into. At the end of the week the money has actually been slightly better for the last month though. Knock on wood.

Our customer count is down. But we are steady, it always slows down during the holiday season starting at thanksgiving and ending after new years. Will pick up mid Jan. if weather is not bad. spring to fall buy buy buy.. thats the time.

we had 2 cars and a van last friday plus a washer and dryer, so far this week all we have had is one washer and suppose to pick up a gas stove tonight and get a contract for a plumbers hot water heaters. i agree the last couple of weeks were crazy people getting extra christmas cash and has slowed down for us. made a bid yesterday to do a old gulley cleanout but its way to wet to get the bobcat in there to clean it out and told the guy it would probably be spring, he had two sacks of cans and told me to takem no charge and said i could have them for now on

Yes, but it will pick up. I'm waiting for the citywide pick up day for anything and everything. That is when it feels like Christmas. I always "try" to put back 1 to 2% of everything I scrap just for when I get a slow month or get sick. It helps ease the mind when I have to stay inside and cant work.

We saved up a lot of stuff to break down just in case it got slow, and today, we got a $250 load out of all the stuff we broke down. Haven't had a load that big in a while, so I'm glad we saved it up for now...
