Yeah I've noticed a little bit of a climb over here, as well. Shred went from $205 a ton to $230 a ton. It was at $230 6 months ago, went up to $240, and then dipped down to $205 for awhile.
AL also seems to have taken a turn for the better. It went from .52/lb to .42/lb over 6 months, but recently it jumped back up to .50/lb.
Only thing that seems to keep going down is stainless and CU. CU was 2.95/lb 6 months ago, but dropped to 2.40/lb and seems to not be recovering. Stainless was .60/lb for clean, .45/lb for dirty, but now they are .45/lb for clean and .30/lb for dirty.
Yeah that's great and all...but...CAN I SCRAP IT!?
prices of the stainless should have gone up. 316/317 ss @ $1.12 / lb, 304 ss @ $.075 / lb in Ontario Canada.
copper is back up $3.82 / lb
AL @0.99 / lb
AL alloy $0.94 / lb
all around prices are doing good except if you are a RIM investor
depending what your scrap yards margins are you can expect somewhere around 30 % less then spot prices
