Shipping - Big Load

Does anyone know the costs of shipping a semi trailer load? I know the are variables like distance and weight, but I am just trying to get an quick thumbnail on shipping a semi full of gaylords 100 miles. accuracy not necessary, just curious if it is $100, $1000 or $10000

I usually figure about 2.00 a mile, seems to work for me. LTL loads are all over the board.

If I could find a 1.00 per mile commercial carrier, I would never start my pickup...ever. At 4-6 mpg, that does not even cover fuel.

See if the buyer of the material uses any carrier on a regular business. If so they may be able to get you a better rate. With a 10 pllet minimum my one buyer can get it shipped to them for about 600 dollars and they will split the cost with me. Thats about 300 miles. S0 2.00 a mile sounds about right.

Freightquote.com does FTL an LTL, pallets, boxes, etc.

I book shipments with them several times a year.
