Part time. Every day I consider it. Unfortunately I make too much at my regular job to justify it. Scrapping supplements my lost overtime since the downturn in the economy. I can't turn down the overtime when its available, but when its not there, I scrap. If I ever loose my job I have decided I will scrap full time and see if I can get by on it.

I just do copper wire and I am full time. This is my only source of income. It is funny because I have a Masters degree and five years ago if you said I would make a living working in scrap I would have told you that you were an idiot and it would never happen. Funny how life works out.

Part time. I'd love to go full time but there just isn't enough scrap available around here.

Very part time which suits me just fine. Mostly I'm retired (or just plain tired). Every afternoon I go in search of a TV with an recliner in front of it.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

As the name implies im only part time and even though i only work 3 days per week i just haven't been able to justify leaving my 45k per year job at least not yet any how.

And seriously consider this before being self employed or a business owner. if you are an employee consider these benefits: Insurance, Paid vacation, sick days, floaters, holiday pay, 401k match, profit sharing, ect. Add any of this to your hourly wage or salary. Your hourly wage or salary only represents about 2/3 of what you really earn. If you want to scrap or do anything on your own. Take your wage and add at least1/3 on top of that to average what you currently make. Something to consider...

Fortunately I work a part time job and am working the scrapping as hard as I can. It curently resides somewhere between full and part time. However, I can do full time scrapping and still keep my part time job that I love.

I'm a part timer. Thought about doing it full time, but I like the consistent pay check of my full time job. In my area there are so many people doing scrap and so little scrap available that I think it would be very difficult to do it full time. Plus on days when I make a run up to the yard, it's like getting 2 pay checks for the day.

Good thing we were born with deductive reasoning skills huh!? LOL

I get off of active duty March 26th then I will be going at this full time...... there is a huge need for recycling around here that I anticipate good business growth..... maybe I am too optimistic.... but I really see a lot of work where I live.

Im parttime. I was working 52hrs/week at my full time job, and about 10-15 hours scrappin, but that just got cut back to 40 so i now have a extra day to scrap and spend time with my two little ones and wife. I dont make that much money and my full time job and we made the choice to have my wife stay at home with the kids instead of work so scrapping is a very important supplement to my regular income. But its all worth it and it helps that i really enjoy scrapping.

God is great, scrap is good, and people are crazy

Its better to be scrapping and thinking of God than sitting in church thinking of scrapping
