So I have this customer that wants to scrap a boat. From the pics I'm gonna say it is a 30 footer, and it comes with the trailer. There is no
scrap metal value to the boat, in fact it is fiberglass and wood and they started filling it with crap, and it has zero resale value so I am going to have to pay to dispose of it. The trailer is in good shape and all I have to do to take it away is inflate a tire.
My questions are:
1.) What ballpark figure is the trailer worth? Certainly more than scrap value!
2.) How do I dispose of the boat? Break it up on the spot? Tow it away and break it up? Is there somewhere I can take it where they will take if for the usable parts?
3.) Am I crazy for considering this?
My thoughts are to charge the guy $600-$700 for the removal (but he''ll squawk over that) and then figure the rest out later.
