i read some where that if you coil up your copper wire tightly it makes more wieght for when you wiegh it in and the tighter you wrap it the better i just wondered how true this is and does anyone do it?

A snipe hunt, a form of wild-goose chase that is also known as a fool's errand, is a type of practical joke that involves experienced people making fun of credulous newcomers by giving them an impossible or imaginary task. The origin of the term is a practical joke where inexperienced campers are told about a bird or animal called the snipe as well as a usually preposterous method of catching it, such as running around the woods carrying a bag or making strange noises such as banging rocks together. Incidentally, the snipe (a family of shorebirds) is difficult to catch for experienced hunters, so much so that the word "sniper" is derived from it to refer to anyone skilled enough to shoot one.[1]
The snipe hunt may be assigned to a target as either part of a process of hazing, in which the object is to initiate the snipe hunter into the group, or as part of a process of ostracism intended to encourage (or force) a person, perceived to be an unwanted interloper, to withdraw from the group's presence.
That only works with aluminum wire.

Sorry Niv, just had to play along some. I don't know that it's possible to change an items density...not with the tools we use anyway.
ouch!! i fell for it nooooo!! it was april 1st yesterday you know !!!! i still think if it was fluffy with air it would wiegh less but i dont know why i think this!!!!
i am going to have to do an experiment with this tomorrow i got some copper wire to strip tomorrow, so i will wiegh it before i compress it then wiegh it compressed i will put the results up tomorrow!!

if nothin else, it'll sure Sound better when you throw it on the scales ; )
OY! Seriously? x amount of copper has a certain amount of mass. You could stretch it all out in a one mile string and stand it on end and the mass of the earth would have the same gravitational pull as if it were wadded up in a tight ball. A scale is a tool that measures the gravitational pull between the earth and another object's mass.
No difference.
