Question Plastic Scrap Buyers in Southern MAINE or Southern NH or even South of Boston

Hey guys. I have been searching high and low for a plastic buyer in these areas. I have family all over and I travel there fairly often. with all this plastic scrap I am generating from the e-waste I would love to be able to cash in on plastic too!! does anyone have a good connection? Yes I have already google searched "plastic Buyers in Maine" and have come up pretty short handed. thank you for the help in advance!

Glad you've done some research. It is very hard to find plastic buyers. Many on here have looked including myself. Was finally able to find someone in Springfield mass. This is good and bad news. Found a buyer, but they only pay 1 cent delivered to them and it is an hour away.

Do you happen to remember the name of the plastic dealer in Springfield MA? I just threw (5) 33 gallon bags of ABS in the dumpster! lol

I was going to say, after you've done this awhile then you'll be happy with finding a company that will recycle for you. But not too many buyers around. Maybe this'll help, enjoy.

I will say....some of the larger yards around will buy your plastic. After I had a relationship with a local yard, they let me know the "other stuff" that they will buy. They don't publicize it, and a lot is built on relationship and the relationship you have with the yard's general manager/decision maker. It does you no good, but that is why I can "accept" some other materials for free to help dispose... I've found that building relationships is the most important thing you can do to build your business.

Thank you all for getting back to me! I am glad I wasn't the only one having a hard time finding this! I am all about building those relationships, both here and in the yard. I appreciate the feedback!

Could i offer just a bit of advise for doing e-waste here in Maine ?

Just an opinion .... but ....see if you can focus your effort on the electronics that come in a case that's mostly metal. There's already a good system in place for recycling the electronics that come with a lot of plastics.

    Why mess with it ?

(The big boys can do a better job of recycling the plastics because they're set up for that kind of thing.)
