Got A Mircrosoft Surface 3 and a Fit Bit Flex for recycling!

Last month I had filled up the blue bin with plastic that I broke down from computers, vacs and such as the city takes that stuff in there blue bins. My wife was not happy that it was Sunday and the bin is now full (again). They pick up Recycling on Thursdays. I told her that I would take the household recycling to the park to get rid of it, as they have bins there for people that live in apartments. So I start breaking down boxes and notice on the inside of a Special K cereal box that we were an instant winner! Had to mail the form back, Certified Mail. This would have gone to the recycling center and unless one of the workers noticed it no one would have got the prize.

We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

Can't gripe! Of course, the cheap part of me would probably sell them both.

If it were me, I would have sold the brand new items, and then bought a couple used last generation ones for them

Cash for me, and toys for them.

    Very cool nonetheless.

Great find and congratulations. In my opinion giving them to your kids is a better investment than the value of the items.

Score! Good eye! One of my fave pick ups still has to be the woman who gave me a 2013 Acer laptop last year. All I had to do was reset it to default settings and it prompted me for my email. The wife has since used it more than I ever will, but no complaints here. It will probably be the only thing I ever own with Windows 8 on it (Windows 8 sucks!)

I refurbish a lot of Windows systems, but 7 will likely be the last Windows OS that I'll personally use.

The rest of my systems will be going over to Linux soon. It says something when software that is funded by donations is vastly superior to stuff from one of the largest companies on the planet.
