    Hello all

My name is Mike and I am from Chicago. I have been in the scrapping copper wire business for the past few years. I have been stripping between 10,000-20,000 LB's of large cable per year. I recently just received a contract that give me about 150,000 -200,000 Lb's per year. I am considering getting into this business full-time and I am looking forward to meeting others in the business.

I was stripping the wire by hand, I bought a wire stripping machine used about 6 mo ago. I just cut the cable into about 6' strips if its not cut already and then fed it into the machine. Most of the wire is 350 mcm - 750 mcm. And yes I am paying for the wire. I pay roughly 5-10 cents over the local scrap yards.
