Creating jobs for adults with disAbilities by recycling electronics

    Hi all,

My name is Drew and I just joined the team at Blue Star Recyclers, a non profit e waste recycler in Colorado Springs, CO. Founded in 2009, we have a staff of 15 people, 11 of which are adults with disAbilities.

My position in Buisiness Development is to share the story of Blue Star Recyclers with as many businesses as possible. If you would like to know what Blue Star is all about, or have an idea for a referral in Colorado, please call me direct at 719-494-7185. The more electronics that we can collect, the more jobs we can create for a segmet of the population that is faced with 80% unemployement in Colorado Springs.

Thanks all, glad to be on the SMF!

    Drew

Drew...My company is in Denver and we are ramping up our electronics recycling program. We are currently looking for a downstream for all of our e-scrap that is R2 certified. I fully expect to bring in 100,000-150,000 lbs. of e-scrap in the first year. Is this volume something your organization can handle and do you currently have any certification?

Congrats for employing adults with disabilities. However, hang out and have some fun and contribute, otherwise your post looks like an ad.

So.....stick around and have some fun and contribute to our conversations and maybe we can all benefit.

Again, more power to you, and like your business model. Would like to see more of it.
