    Hello from Northern Wisconsin!

Hello, my name is Mark and I have been scrapping cars and metal since around February 2012. Nice to see a forum like this for the scrap metal industry. I am interested in the posts and information on ewaste and/or computer monitors, CPU's and TV's. Is it really worth the time to break these items down for the gold and other precious metals? If so, how does one do that? Just wondering how forum members in rural areas manage the electronics portion of their scrap metal business. Thanks! Oh, I also recently noticed a huge drop in metal prices. How often do theses prices fluctuate?

First welcome to the forum. The answers to your questions and much more are located in the old threads of this forum. I say this because I like you joined this forum and found many ways to profit by reading the old threads. Start with the electronics section, the buyers section and how to break down things section. I live no where near my ewaste buyer and I am able to ship and make money. Then take to time to read the rest, you just never know what you will learn and profit. Mike.

Welcome from southern Wisconsin. Like Miked said read the forum and 99% of your questions will be answered. As far as being rural, just keep accumulating until you have enough to ship.

Greetings from a fellow Northern Wisconsinite! I'm from the Minocqua area. Glad to see more people from the state! If you ever have any questions, I'm limited in answers, however I have about the same regional perspective as you.

Used to spend a week or two up in your area every summer in St Germain. Some beautiful country just got a little to populated for my vacations.

Very cool! And yes, recently we have been getting much more populated up here. Both good and bad. All the businesses up here rely on tourists and vacationers to keep their businesses alive.

Go further north to the UP, and you can still find unpopulated areas that are rather nice vacation spots! (Not to mention the deposit on aluminium cans!)
