    Hi! I'm new here!

I'd like to introduce myself to you has Magneto (LOL, I was shocked no one had that name already). I'm new here to this forum and also to the entire concept of scrapping. I sort of stumbled onto this a few weeks ago. I was on you tube and for some reason put in the search "how to scrap a t.v. I'm hooked! Seance then I have taken the challenge of cleaning out my mothers home. She has about 40 years of junk build up. Quite a bit of metal from what I can see. I'm hoping to turn that over and sort of form a scrapping business. My mother has 4 barns and I have my work cut out for me bug time. I like the idea of scrapping and wish to get to a point where I can make some good money doing this. I'll be looking to use this forum for a lot of help from those that have been doing this for awhile or thouse that have good advise to offer. I have actually been reading a lot of threads here already (and watching you tube vids) but I know I have a lot to learn.
Thank you for reading and thank you for helping newbies like me learn!

welcome magneto. you will find loads of very useful information here, just do your homework. also, be careful when cleaning out barns , you might be surprised that some of that old junk is worth more to a collector, than sold as scrap. i wish you the best of luck.

    Hey,
I'm keeping that in mind very much has I go theelectronrecycler. I've already found a few things of interest. not to mention at least a few hundred pounds of metal within a few old car parts. Very happy with those finds.

    Thank you for the welcome!

    Hi Magneto
Welcome to the Forum , So Your from Randolph Vt. ?
As a matter of fact I have been there a few times back in the 80's , I delivered and helped install and service the air compressors in the Vermont Castings Foundry and also the assembly plant down the road when Duncan and Murray owned it .
I always enjoyed going up there to service there compressors as they were both great guy's along with the plant staff , and girls in the office always checked to make sure I had a place to stay in White River Junction .
I felt bad that I was not able to attend Murray's funeral , but the owners of the company did go up .
I had dropped a $$$$ snap-on allen wrench set and they found it while cleaning and locked it inside the control panel till I found it the following month .
