Introduction from Goldy

I have been an electrical contractor for 23 years and like all EC's I generate scrap copper and aluminum wire. Until a couple of years ago I used to have a recycler from the Bay Area pick it up (unstripped) and he would pay me a few days latter. The money was good and I did not have the time to strip it. But as the price of copper rose and my son got older I decided to start stripping the scrap. I bought a Strip-Tec model A and my son and I push/pulled close to 2000 pounds of copper thru the machine. It worked pretty good and felt it was worth the $300.00. We made good money for the amount of time we had into it. The added bonus of getting my son away from the computer and having him work with hand tools was the best. We took a break and let the scrap pile grow. I just purchased an Imagine Tool drill powered stripper. Our hope was to increase production and be able to strip the 14/12/10 thhn that the Model A did not do so well. We have had limited success and unfortunaly after only 180 pounds we have broke the stripper. I am going to send it back for warranty work. The owner seems like a good guy and I am sure he will stand behind his product. However I do not think it is the right machine for the volumn of small gauge wire that we need to do. I am looking at a better machine and could really use some advice. The strippers I am looking at are the Gensco CSX 001. The Strip -Tec 1000. The WS-0251 from Newman Trading co. We want to strip everything from 16 gauge to 750 MCM copper and aluminum. I am sure this has been discussed on this forum so some direction would be most appreciated . Thank you
