    Howdy from Oklahoma

Been reading the forum for a little while, might as well join up and do the intro...

Bought (well, bartered, actually) some property from a distant relative (wife's side 'o the family), lots of debris to remove from 20+ years of Okie livin'. Couple mobile homes, 2 ton truck, corrugated siding/roofing, misc bicycles, small machinery, etc. all needs to go, so obviously trying to maximize return. Seems like a lot of dubious characters locally that want to "help" with the cleanup, but all signs I've seen are that they will create more mess than currently exists. Popular opinion says to dig a big hole and bury it all ...but then those are the folks that flip properties...we are going to build there and prefer to not live on top of it, and would rather repurpose/recycle what can be.

Not casting aspersions on the good scrappers, just figured at this point, might investigate doing it myself...or at least make contacts that will actually be beneficial to my goal of cleaning the property up and making it usable.

There is quite a few from down your neck of the woods (here on the forum) so don't be surprised if someone contacts you about helping you. If you bury it eventually it will come back up to the surface. I know some people that live on top and around a big "backyard" junkyard from 30 years ago. They'll be mowing their yard and hit something and they'll end up digging up a car bumper or other piece of an auto.

Hi Ribbed. Welcome to the forum. I'm in Tulsa. I have 20, 30, And 40 yard roll off boxes and of course the truck. If youre really just looking to clean up, with my help, we I could split whatever we make. If I need to bring my skid steer, my take may be more. Of course if you call your local yard, they may have available boxes if your have enough to fill them. Good luck regardless.

do it yourself and you'll do yourself a favor! get a magnet and a tape measure, anything thicker than 1/8" and shorter than 3(ish) feet in one pile, anything thinner than 1/8" and longer than 3 feet(ish) in another. Anything non-magnetic in yet another. Remove any motors from the frames and put electric motors in one pile, gas type in another. You won't get rich, but you'll get paid for cleaning up your place, and learn a few tricks in the process ; ) Maybe even decide to clean up your neighbors, and they just might let ya
