    Hello everybody

I started a junk removal business about a year and a half ago with a partner. He decided to let it go. So I'm trying to make a go of it as best I can. I'm blessed to have the wife I do who helps out when I need it. And my son helps out with the really heavy stuff when he's not in school. (something to do with computer..., and the rest is gibberish) I really like what I see here. The people seem to be genuine and informed. I've been perusing about here for a while. Now if only I could find a way to be a scrapper without my property looking like such a mess... Well that's about it in a nutshell. I'll try to stay in touch as much as possible.

Welcome to SMF! Think about trees, shrubs, or a privacy fence to help keep the scrap from being so visible. I'm fortunate to have a lot of room out in the country, with no close neighbors, and woods all around. I started scrapping out behind the barn, and from the road it isn't even visible. With the leaves being on the trees you couldn't even see it from the air ; )

Thanks for welcoming me in guys. It makes a person feel good. And good advice too. We talked about computer salvage but, we haven't gotten enough to really make it go. I just cut the cords and take the copper out of the monitors and tv's. Watertown lets you drop off any electrical device including refrigerators,computers...well anything with a cord or batteries, at no charge. So, nobody calls me for that anymore. Most of my business is scrap metal now. Thanks Bear, for the shrubs idea. I live on an acre in the country and could put the stuff in the back while the yard is dry. But, I don't think that would work during winter. However, some well placed shrubs/bushes in front could do the trick. It's cheaper than putting up a building too.
