Howdy y'all -
The welcome message said I should intro myself, so here I am doing just that.
I own and operate a professional junk removal business in Richmond, VA and we get a fair amount of
scrap metal (appliances, lawnmowers, steel shelving, patio furniture, BBQ grills, file cabinets, and on and on). I'm mostly looking for ways to more efficiently process and handle the metal we get and to maximize its value. I'm also researching possible ways to recycle mattresses, sofas and pianos. In fact, the way I found this forum was that I was Googling info on piano recycling. It seems like a huge shame to just dump a piano in the landfill, when so much time, effort and resources went into building it. But they are a real bear to disassemble, and what you're left with isn't worth a huge amount of money, so I'm trying to figure out some kind of alternative to just dumping them.
I'm also interested in what kind of pricing everyone is getting for various metals.
Looking forward to getting involved the discussion.
Thanks,
- Bill T.
