    Hi everyone....breaking down COPIERS

breaking down copiers brought me here.

Finding lots of small electric motors, some aluminum, copper/brass bushings and circuit boards along with breaking down the steel frame.

Haven't added it up yet, but I've dismantled 5 copiers so far.

Not doing it to get rich, but actually enjoy it and will make a few bucks in the process.

Great site for learning....so much info

From my experience with two large copiers, and the pile of plastic left over, in the future i'll charge for removal, pop the back off and get the easy boards and motors, replace the back cover and haul it to the shredder. (you'll still be stuck with the toner, but some places buy it, and some recycle for free or a small credit)

I think they're more like low-mid grade? That's only like $1 or $2 a pound, it would take a pile to overcome the shipping on them (unless my presumptions are incorrect, which is very possible ; )

PS I also think the OP has left the building

You sould be able to find an e-waste buyer in L.A. Aalso you sould be able to find a plastic recycler that would take the plastic off your hands insted of putting it in the dump.

Some coppiers/printers have gold memory and high grade boards. If your just pulling the back off and grabing what you see your throwing away money. My .02
