    New from northern New England

I've been lurking for about 6 months and figured I would finally sign up. My father taught me the value of scrapping copper and aluminum as a kid. I remember going to the yard with Dad when copper would bring just shy of $0.90/pound. That was a big deal back then. After college and several years in the work force I decided to start scrapping again. It seemed that people were always throwing valuable stuff away, but for the longest time metals prices were depressed enough that it wasn't really worth my while. Once copper started to climb above $1.00/ pound in the early 2000's I figured I would start doing it on the side as time allowed. 8 years later I'm still doing it on the side and have to say that in addition to the extra income I really enjoy tearing stuff apart! All that said, its amazing how much I've learned from reading this site. I hope I can contribute and educate others as well. Thanks for reading!
