Hello All, Newbie in search of methods.............

    Good day,
I'm northeast of Sacramento, CA and in the business (very small time for now) of picking up people's "junk" and scrapping anything from applicances to steel plate. So far things have been as fast as I can keep up with and keep my full time day job. My bonus is that the scrap yard I use is literally 2 miles from my day job. I pick up material in the afternoon etc and bring in to the yard at lunch. Consequently my coworkers call me Sanford and Son, but it's fun and meeting people is a good time as well.
My hauling unit is a Subaru Outback and an 8' trailer that has hauled up to 1300 lbs. I've learned to use a cutting torch and need to find a good way to scrap travel trailers, motor homes etc. There's a ton of those out there for the taking and there must be a good method of how to tear them down and scrap.
Besides that, I think things are going along as well as can be expected.
Glad to find the forum, can't wait to find possibilities from you experienced professionals.
Thanks for your time and input!
    Nick

Welcome.. I am from Sacramento and have been scrapping for a few years.. I am still learning tricks to the trade.. The best way is to get to know selected scrappers who you may meet on a job or at the yard and network together. Give a little and get a little.... Good luck.

Look up other threads regarding trailers and mobile homes before committing to them. There can be a LOT of non-recyclable trash to dispose of in those, in California there are tons of regulations. Good luck and welcome!
