Returning to Scrap after 10 Year Hiatus

Hello All. I am 29 years old, started scrapping as a young kid with my uncle who scrapped and sold cars for a living. We dealt with ferrous and non ferrous metals. Did it for about 5 years, buying from auctions, private, and businesses. Had alot of fun and learned alot about the scrap industry. Left to start my career in Electronics/Electical field. I now have a full time job workign for a telecom infrastructure company. I have been noticing with the boom of E Scrap and prices alot higher than when I used to scrap before a renewed interest into scrapping.

I visit many companies and see lots of different opportunities for E scrap and other types. Whether its components such as large quanities of hard drives, capacitors, batteries, transformers, and large telecom wiring and bus bars. Some of these companies throw away a decent amount of this scrap, either oblivious to it having value, or just not caring because they are Billion dollar corporations. Anyways I just don't know a good angle or a way to break the ice to ask about obtaining this scrap, without it getting back to my company. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you, Matt215
