    Greetings from South Carolina

Hello all, been browsing here for a few days and decided to register myself.

I don't scrap full time nor part time, mostly when I need cash - I'm a full time gunsmith so my days are usually busy working on firearms, but with the economy the way it's been I am probably going to dedicate a bit more time to scrapping and figure to stay up on the latest trends what better than a good scrap metal forum, eh?

Copper theft is ridiculous around here (and I'm sure every where else as well) so I'm leery of getting into that beyond small stuff - A/C units get hit daily. I've noticed e-waste is a big ticket item if you've got the volume to back it up lately. Our area only has 1 local pickup station and they only pickup once a month for e-waste, curbside it doesn't get collected so there may be an outlet for when I'm riding around town to grab stuff and dismantle it. We shall see.

I'll probably "specialize" in engines and such of that nature as well as just misc. stuff. Last scrap run I did I made about $300 for about 4hrs of just loading up stuff laying around the shop, and I've accumulated more since then so a run is going to be made in a few days.

    Anywho, that's my introduction.

If you have basic mechanical abilities, and a lot of patience - it's not all that difficult.

If you see the available ewaste setting around then we have the good buyers for it. All you have to do is break it all the way down and load up a box and ship to the buyer of your choice. And welcome to SMF Univ.
