    Hello From California

Just thought I'd go ahead an introduce myself. I've been reading these forums for months now, and there is a ton of great information. I have a fairly new resale business..buying and selling pretty much everything. Computers, household, appliances, electronics, and a ton of restaurant equipment. I wanted to find a better way to make use of things I normally would throw away, and this forum has been a great help. I recently acquired a bunch of commercial copiers, and broke one down last night, and will be posting pictures of what came out of it soon.

Welcome to the forum, Ryan. I'll be looking forward to the copier breakdown as I'll be getting one in a couple days.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Welcome to the forum and thank you for taking the time to read some of the old threads before asking questions. I also look forward to seeing your break down of the copier. As I recall there may be a minimum number of posts neede before you can post photo's. Its only a few, perhaps 5. Hopefully someone will comment with the correct information. Mike.

Welcome aboard. Scrapping is definately a sidebar to your business. Glad you found us. I just did a mess of copiers 2 weks ago. I was fortunate with these. They all had 2 thumb screws and the board came out. Each looks to be motherboard grade and had RAM sticks as well. I hauled them straight to the steel yard and netted over $160 for my first full ton + of shred. Had to shred and not breakdown further as it was a 3 trip load and had to get back for the good stuff.

Thank you all for being so welcoming! I posted the copier break down here:

parrothead - It would be nice if the boards come out of some of these machines as easily as that. I'm pretty sure I do not want to completely break them down ever again. The only person I've asked about pricing with these complete was someone I drop my crts off to. He said he pays 2cents a lb for them...which isn't so great. He pays 6 cents a pound for CRTs! (There is a 6 month limit on these though, don't remember how many).

I haven't actually sold any for scrap yet, just as working parts on ebay. I do have a pile of older computers that is growing and I'm pretty sure those parts will be scrapped. I may sell those as scrap on ebay, or to one of the buyers that are listed here.

Blue, if you ever find an e-scrap buyer in California,(Northern OR Southern), who pays out like the Buyers on this Forum do, but who are sadly in far distant states, Please PM me.

The cost of shipping out of state, is killing the small amount of items I ship.

    I'm in 510 area code also, Richmond/San Pablo/El Cerrito area :-)

    Cheers and gl.
