    Hi

Just wanting to note my appreciation of everyone's willingness on this board to share tips and educate others. My 11 year-old son has been dragging home discarded applinaces from around the neighborhood for years now, taking them apart to see what he could find inside. I got tired of finding space for it all in the garbage when one day it finally dawned on me that the aluminum, copper, etc. could be sold. Now we have a weekend hobby of scrapping computers, electronics and small appliances. Seems to be a good way to spend time with my son, because as you parents know in a few years he won't want to be hanging around with his dad, at least I didn't when I was a teenager. It also seems to be a good way to teach him that to get money you have to put forth some effort.

    Hello Scraplington, Welcome to SMF

Your son has been 11 for years now? I can relate, sort of, 3rd grade was the hardest 4 years of my life!

That's cool what he's doing, and great that you can do it together, and you're certainly right how quick time goes by, and how things sure change. Lets hope it's all for the better, and with your approach, I think you have a good shot at that

good intro. It is always best to scrap in a manner that is correct and environmentally friendly. Sell your scrap, recycle your plastic and pay it forward. If we all do this and work together it will promote our industry and allow for less restrictions and laws to be placed against us. I hope to be doing this with my son in about 10 years.
I buy and sell all types of scrap and escrap. I buy specialty and hard to sell escrap. I buy resale items. PM me or contact me at jghilino@hotmail.com
I AM ACTIVELY BUYING ESCRAP OF ALL TYPES. BOARDS, RAM, CPUS AND MUCH MORE
