    Hi fellow scrappers!

My name is Stephen. I have been scrapping for a few months and was wondering about laws, about scrapping
in residential areas. I live in Ohio. The areas I am talking about is Powell, Oh and Dublin, Oh.
    Thanks

Welcome to the forum. The only laws that count are the ones in the area you are working in. Each community can and does have its own set of rules to live by. You need to contact local authorities to determine for certain you are complying.

One thing that seems to run true is anything in the recycle containers now belongs to the company or department that picks them up and taking from them is stealing. I would not want to be standing in court explaining why I was stealing Al cans from the recyle bins on trash day.

If you go to businesses and offer to remove and perhaps pay for their scrap you know that you have legal rights to that property.

Keep reading, there is a lot of information here on the forum but it requires your time. Best of luck, Mike.

Some citys will make you buy a permit to scrap / salvage things from peoples trash. Find out before scrapping in a new area. Anyways, welcome from south of Chicago.
