Hello all.

I am new to the scrap industry and am only connected to it by my field of work. I recently started as General Manager for a company called Midland Reclamation. This company purchases railroad parts from scrap yards and dismantlers, then reconditions them to be sold to the Class 1 railroads or smaller switch yards. I have been trying to bring new ideas to the company by using my limited knowledge of the internet and all it has to offer. That is how I found this site! I am hoping to learn about the scrap industry so I can have a better understanding of how it all works. I hope that in the process I can pass on any new knowledge to those on here and help everyone learn the most they can about the industry. I am looking forward to learning as much as I can and even visiting some of the yards we work with.
