Hey all, Daz Here
Just got started scrapping after my brother dumped a load of e-scrap in my lap: cables, battery backups, audio compressors, all kinds of stuff. I started stripping and did about two weeks of online research before landing here on SMF. I've been picking up all kinds of stuff now that I'm noticing it around, too...somebody threw out a washer dryer set near my office and now I get to learn how to clean that into something valuable.
I'm really enjoying it. I'm only part time as I'm also working on my degree and work a regular job in electrical wholesale supply, but I like the work and the extra scratch I can pull together from my local yards. I'm planning a move north in about six months and if I can make this a profitable venture I'd definitely look into gathering together some clientele and turning recycling into a full time gig.
