    Here from TN

I am new here from TN. I have worked on electronics since I was a kid and had my first repair job at 14.I got into electronics repair of things like VCRs,TVs and stereos until that started going down hil. I then got into computers and have done that for about 25 years. I have always recycled what I could and I joined here to get new ideas. I have been cleaning my home workshop out and probably a 40 gallon drum of used wire alone, not counting the boxes of old scrap wire elsewhere in my shop. If cleaned I would probably have a 55 gallon drum of copper.

I also have been cleaning up my wifes homestead. We live on the place along with her mom. The state was taking her moms house and 4 other buildings on part of the place for a road widening project. So about 3 years ago I started cleaning the place up to prepare for that. HE dad grew up in the depression and saved all kinds of metal and other stuff. I hauled off load after load of scrap metal. I made well over a grand for her mom over the last year. I also hauled off probably 600 bucks of my own stuff. We have been able to settle with the state for her mom and now she has a new house on the place. I expect to be finished moving all the junk to behind my workshop within the next couple of months. I plan to seperate and haul off the rest of the scrap. I also plan on keeping some of the good metal I can reuse.

In the past I would scrap the steel, aluminum and copper but did not know where to scrap the boards and processors. I could have probably filled a 18 wheeler over the last 10 to 15 years with the stuff I tossed I could have sold if I knew of a buyer. But you live and learn. Anyway I am looking to find ways to recycle my junk instead of sending it to a landfill.
