    Hello

Recently fell on some hard times. At my age been there before. Scrapped metal when I was a kid, but man the price these days!
So here I go thinking maybe can make some much needed cash. Have some medical bills got to pay. Last time I scrapped anything was over 30 years ago. Brass was the only thing that I remember and it was around $.30 per lb. (yellow) Mostly what we had was old farm equipment that we could no longer use. I think steel was $30 a ton.
So anything you guys can offer for tips and tricks would be great. My main thing is locating metal. Have a truck and have a small trailer.
    Thanks for letting me join,
    Veryoldguy

P.s. – The medical condition is ongoing, but under control.

Hello Old Guy, welcome to SMF! You can get an ad on FreeCycle that will garner some small pick ups, sometimes full loads, just re submit it ever couple weeks or so. Put out cards and stuff, tell all your friends to tell all their friends. Ask your Drs if they have an old storage that needs cleaned up. Lotsa things really, you'll find it all in time. Good luck!

What part of MS? I used to spend some time on the beaches around Biloxi, and up on the Pearl River. I'm in SE OK now

Welcome from Kansas ! Auctions, or farm sales as We call'em , can be worthwhile depending on the day. I buy 95% of my iron, treat people good and go the extra mile, and you'll have more than you can handle. I run a diverse operation so I'll scrap ANYTHING I can get my hands on, so it keep me busy year round.
