I'm based in Mackay, Queensland, Australia and am involved with helping out a charity who employs disadvantaged people.
One of the ways the charity makes their money through recovery of scrap metal. Last financial year we put through about 2,000 tonnes of steel (mixed light gauge and heavy gauge) and approx 380 tonnes of non-ferrous metals.
We are in the process of getting a couple of pairs of alligator shears and a metals baler set up to increase our efficiency.
I've joined the forum to pick up tips about metals recovery and get a bit of an idea on market movements.
I'm looking forward to seeing what goes on.
