Hi,

i am new to the forum and new to e-scrap recycling. I have known that there is money to be made with e-scrap and i have been collecting IC manufacturing PCB that are ~90% gold plated for a couple of years. I have accumulated close to 600 lbs but now it is just taking up to much space in my garage. does anyone know a reputable company that is in Oregon or close to? i would like to save on shipping cost. Also maybe instead of cash do companies pay in the actual bullion that is recovered. How do i get started?

I wish I had some advice for you. You would think we would have more plentiful options for recycling that stuff since Oregon has some very tough laws on recycling, not to mention the environmental awareness attitude! I am tired of having to ship my computer and automotive scrap across the country to get a decent price. I chalk it up to the unfriendly-to-businesses (and working people) Oregon tax structure.

hi from silverton. there isn't anyone on the west coast who refines PCB's that I know of, there is a company up in north Portland that refines precious metals but I don't know if they would do boards. google NTR refining. and their site comes up. in dealing with the buyers here on the board, I've found that the closer to troutdale or salem you are the cheeper it is, as that is where the fedex wharehouses are. with 600 lbs it's worth looking into freight charges, or even using a service like Uship. as far as local yards go, CCM in salem is willing to price match online prices minus shipping, just print out the price sheet and figure out what it costs to ship it. and any questions call the office 18003095865 and you will want to ask for Rich or Zack as they are the ewaste buyers.
