    Hi all,

Im the new guy on the block. Or maybe its better if i say im the new, old guy, on the block. Then again maybe im just the old grump on the block depending on the day of the week, the price of scrap--and if my wife tells me what i am that day.(u should all now know who runs this family!) Any way--im 66 , retired live in North East Texas out in the woods on Lake Tawakoni.Im x-military, and a X-cop. Have only been scrapping about a year now. But had to find a way to add some dollars to the old income. Because if these are the 'Golden Years' some how i got Bronze.(and not enough of that to scrap). I spend most of my spare time on copper wire--found all over the place and out of about anything they put it in. I like to sit and strip wire while watching the baseball and or football games. I'll never get rich--but can make more than my little social security check just off the scrap wire i find a month. Found this site by accident, read a few of the scrapping tips, liked what i read. Learned a few things on items i could be scrapping that im not at present doing. And some better ways to do some of the items i have been doing. Im sure i have a lot to learn based on what i have read so far. But even a Old Dog can learn, I look forward to learning from all of you.

You might enjoy this also, sign in and tell us a little (or a lot) about your service. Like has been said above, just take some time each eve. and do a little reading and next thing you'll have a college education in scrapping.

Bear, I noticed your in Oklahoma, i moved to Texas from Oklahoma. Last job i had in Ok. was with the Department of Corrections --worked several diff. prisons. (Joe Harp, Mabal Bassit, and Big Mac, to name a few) Moved to Texas to get away from the X-wife, (but that's a diff. story, for another time--LOL!) And this is still a great Lake for Catfish, Crappie, and bass. If your ever in the area--we can catch enough for a fish fry most any day. Just bring beer--and we'll get'er done!

Hello NamVet ~ wanted to say Hi from another Newb. I actually lived in Emory TX for a bit so I am familiar with your neck of the woods. We loved going to the lake. I thought it was a very beautiful area but I did the opposite from you - had to leave TX to get away from my ex, after all the song says "all my exes live in Texas", lol.
Thank you so very much for your service. My favorite pair of earrings were made by a Nam Vet - he would take found objects and turn them into works of art to subsidize his income. Hope your copper endeavors go just as well for you.
