Hi, I'm new here & I'm glad to have stumbled upon your forum. You have a neat place here with plenty of good info that a newbie or even a seasoned scrapper can benefit from. I congratulate you for that & thank you for making it available to those of us who quest for a better way. I wish to introduce myself. I'm a scrapper, not because I chose this as a career or because I majored in scrapping in college. I don't even refer to myself as a scrapper or specify it in my
business card. I'm not even in the business. I'm a scrapper because it's in my genes. It comes naturally. It is the logical thing to do & It makes a lot of sense to do this. I want to say that it is common sense, but common sense is not so common. Most people don't do this.
When I go walking down the street, I tend to pick things up from the ground. When I go to throw something in the trash, I tend to take stuff out of the trash. I re-use what I can & recycle the rest. When my water heater gave up on heating my water, I put it to work grilling my steaks. Half of my old pickup truck is now a trailer. There's all kinds of stuff around that has served a useful purpose & arrived at the time where they can no longer perform their job & need to be retired. But that doesn't mean they're dead. They can be recommissioned for a different assignment. They're kind of similar to us humans, I can no longer drive a truck, but I can do data entry or answer the phone. So yeah, I'm a scrapper. And someday, I hope, the world is going to stop looking at us funny & start thanking us for our contribution to a cleaner Earth.
