    Hello hello!

    Hi all,
For full discloser I will start by saying I have somewhat selfish reasons for joining. I have essentially zero experience with respects to metal recycling and don't plan to get into the business anytime soon... However! I'm a product designer working on a consumer device destined for a future kickstarter. We are trying to design our product to be "end-of-life friendly" IE many years from now when our device moves from someones desk to the street curb we want the individual material components to be easily separated (Aluminum, copper, plastics) IE reduce environmental impact, limit needless waste etc.

The reason I joined this forum is specifically to be able to pick some brains with respects to some very specific questions we are having with respects to practical recycling issues pertaining to "potted" copper (epoxy or resin encapsulation) So at this point I am just biding my time until the forum will actually let me post my singular question!

Welcome to the forum. Photos are a great way to illistrate what you are doing. I think you are required to post a total of 5 times before you can post photos.

Include what the material is that going to be used to enclose the Cu. I am also curious, if you are willing to share, why does the Cu need to be encapselated? Also the term "potted Copper" simply refer to Cu encapselated? Thanks, Mike.

Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked

Copper is usually "potted" when it is used in a solenoid that needs to be water tight, like in irrigation systems.
