    Hello and Thanks from Ohio

I've been lurking around these forms for the past month sucking in as much as I could , so I figured it's time to join and say Hello.

I'm in northwest Ohio in a small community. By day I'm a computer programmer, but during the off time I'm often doing work to our house and ending up with scrap materials. That's what got me into the scrap yard in the first place. With each trip I've gotten a little smarter. For example after 3 years of scrapping, someone taught me the difference between #1 and #2 copper. (I feel a little sheepish for admitting that) That said, what the guys there have taught me is a drop in the bucket compared to what I've gotten from here and YouTube. And now I feel I can face them with confidence. Rather than just a bucket of aluminum mixed at their mercy, I'll be breaking it down into what it should be. I don't have tons and tons of scrap, and I want to get the most buck for the pound.

Naturally, I'm loving the E-Scrap route. I've given away gobs of stuff in the past because I thought I was done building computers. Now I'm buying anything I see at a garage sale (for the right price of course).

I do have the advantage of five kids who love to play with Daddy's tools. They are great for unwinding the inductor coils/transformers, trimming wires, taking out screws, etc. It's more of a hobby for me, but it's also about spending time with them.

Again, thank you again to everyone for the wisdom and the passion that you've shared with the world. I'm sure I'll be around playing the "what is it" game...
