    Good to be here

My name is Ken Starks and I am the founder and Executive Director of Reglue.org. We take in broken or decommissioned computers, refurbish them, then place them in the homes of financially-disadvantaged kids throughout Central Texas.

With the majority of grants wanting you to spend their money the way they say to spend it, it's difficult to raise the money needed for everyday stuff like fuel for volunteer's car, parts, etc. Donation dollars are getting hard to find as well. I could absolutely kick myself for all the pre-pentium computers I gave away in the past few years. I had no idea that we could harvest the parts for cash. We are currently working with a local scrap yard but as far as CPU's, it looks like he is dropping an entire zero from the total weighed. I of course am comparing his prices to those I found here. Thanks for that too.

We aren't a huge producer of scrap...maybe a combined 6 lbs of various CPUs, 40 green mother boards and 15 lbs of RAM in a month's time. I needed to be here to educate myself on the different CPUs because we got took to the woodshed the past couple of visits to our local guy.

Anyway, it's good to be here and I promise I won't act like the complete noob I am. Most times anyway. ;-))
