Welcome to the forum. Unless you can afford an expensive lesson and have the space, knowledge to handle 300 laptops I may suggest you pass. Depending on what is missing, my guess is bad lcd, no hard drive, no ram, then $1-$2 depending on the age and popularity of the the remaining parts. Re-selling takes a lot of time and effort to make a real profit.
$2k is way over priced. In my opinion he should be happy to get rid of them for $1-$2 ea. Best of luck, Mike.

If their disassembled pieces of laptops then a price per lb is in order. Probably around .20 lb

DANG. I only thought the food and gas and houses was expensive in OCMD, but I guess everything is!

I'd offer 2 bucks each, if any are refurbishable or intact, you can offer lets say like 5 or 10 bucks, depending on the models. Ask the gentleman, if you can come look at them first, then write down the model numbers of the ones that are intact, go home and research them on ebay for sold listings and then come up with a quote. I'd give the man the quote if he still says 2 grand, I'd say your nuts politely and then let him go on his way.
