hi from Toronto Canada, some questions

Hi there im new from Toronto Canada

I have never sold my scrap before but have given a lot away before I knew I could sell it myself LOL

Can anyone tell me where is a good place to sell my metal to in Scarborough area , or is there a better place to drive to in the GTA?

I have a lot of scrap autoparts and various steel , stuff like what is in the picture I attached

Can i make money from this stuff?

Do I have to sort it to steel and aluminum or just dump this stuff in the back of the truck and drive there?

    Thanks

Manville Metal Recycling, i hear the ads on the radio for them. I've never been there my self but i have checked their prices a few times on the web site. I'd be willing to meet you down their to buy lap tops and desk top computers. Were located near xUbridge, but I'm down Oshawa Whitby way often

also if you have a pic up truck load and not sure what to do with it I'll meet up with you and give you a fair price.

    and your pic didn't work

Do an internet search for salvage yards, scrap yards, metal recycling in your area. I suggest you take one item your first trip, by that I mean just steel. Tell the guys at the yard you are new and need help so you can do it fast and correctly. Most of the yard employees I have met are willing to help you get started(it makes their jobs easier later).

Read the old threads on the forum, keep in mind prices have changed both up and down. How much should you break things down or is it worth it to break something down, maybe for you may be not. So break it down then you will know in the future.

Car parts, can they be sold as used parts?, cores? broke down? Do you research.

The more you read the more you will know you didn't know. Mike.

Welcome from Barrie! Good to see another canuck on here.

Deffinately sperate aluminum and steel. Huge differance in price. Same with auto parts. Starters and alternators have their own category. Rotors and drums, or auto cast are $100/ton higher then shred for me.

Use the search function if you have unanswered questions. You will probably get alot more answers that way, and alot more respect from, lets call them the vets, of this site, too. Its a lot to learn and will take time but keep at it and i guarantee you will make alot of cash. Put it this way, we saved all the rotors from brake jobs over the last year, and nearly turned 1000 bucks in profit just from JUNK. We are a small country shop, guarantee you can double that being in toronto. Iv been at it for 2 years and im still a rookie! Its a process but a fun and exciting one.

Lots of guys on here are doin the same sort of scrappin you are, like myself. Iv gone from scrappin one or two cars a YEAR to 2-3 cars a month. I have 3 on the lot now and potentially 2 more this weekend. You will learn lots, and i look forward to your contribution to this forum. Its good to have canadian contacts.
If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...
