    Hello from Canada

New to the forum, been lurking for a month or so. I am getting into the cable recycling business and there seems to be lots of good info here. I am interested in any advice I could get on cable granulators. Particularly how big I would have to go and app. cost for a machine that can process armoured teck cable with the outer rubber and armour still on it. I have processed quite a bit of larger teck from my garage over the last 5 or 6 weeks and am looking at setting up contracts to buy teck off large industial projects up here. Any advice or info or reputable granulator manufactirers would be greatly appreciated.
    Kevin

Talk to Reconn metals in Calgary. I hear they have a granulator that will sort aluminum and copper. I haven't seen it in person, though--just on their website. It looks pretty costly because there is so much machinery.

The granulators that can separate plain insulated wire (without the aluminum armor) are a dime a dozen and you can get any size you want. Google is your friend here. The challenge is to get the Cu and Al separated. That requires more sophisticated technology, although I have seen videos on the 'net where machines were "sort of" doing it.

Keep us posted with what you find!

    Jon.

Will do Jon thanks. I am sure it is a much costlier and complicated machine to seperate both but it is very time consuming getting that armour off by hand.
