Rookie scrapper looking for tips and tricks, from North Iowa

Hello everyone I am starting to venture into scrapping mostly copper, brass, aluminum, etc. I have done some scrapping n the past but that was heavy construction I beams and channel iron. Also just other scrap iron, steel "junk". I am reading all I can about this new direction of scrapping. I am building a large 3 stall garage that I will be able to use a portion of it for this new adventure. I am just going to kind of go at it like a "hobby" since I have a full time job and will just "tinker" for this stuff. I am relatively young at 35. The whole E-scrap idea intrigues me but not sure where or how to even begin doing that.

I echo Jonniebrass. I spent my whole career in a profession only to find out after I retired, I was in the wrong profession. You are on the right track, this forum has lots of answers if you are willing to read. Good luck from the Dakota's.

Welcome. Escrap can seem confusing at first but read all you can on here & take a few different kinds of electronics apart & it will start making sense.

Welcome from Kansas! Been my experience that experience is the best way to learn! Don't be afraid to talk to guys at your scrap yard, been beneficial for me. And don't ever look at a mistake as an "all" negative thing, a lesson learned that came at a cost usually isn't repeated often!
