Just taking the time to introduce myself here. I've been checking in for a little while and decided to finally join in. I'm from north of Dallas, tx between Denton and McKinney. I'm trying to learn whatever I can about scrapping, I've always been the guy to pick up every penny off the ground and one day figured out that I was throwing money away in scrap. So during my down times instead of wasting time wandering around the internet or just not being productive I'll tinker with stuff , break things down, disassemble and strip some wires. Some of the things I do most people would say is a waste of time but hey, if I'm at work sitting at a desk with nothing else to do, then 10 minutes of work to make 10 cents is better than wasting my time doing nothing at all. Plus I enjoy taking things apart and seeing the inner workings, part of my inquisitive nature. That and it's like a break for me from the madness of crazy customers.
I'm looking forward to gaining knowledge and hopefully make some connections on here. I work at an auto body shop and also have my own resale business. I get most of my stuff from storage auctions...yup, like on storage wars... so I get ALOT of electronics, wires, appliances and other junk. Most recently I got a couple units with ALOT of
escrap. One was from a network solutions business and the other from a telecom business. From the network business I have probably a dozen computer monitors and some random boards/servers. From the telecom unit I probably have 60-100 telecom boards, some cabinets, telecom fuses, phones and a bunch of wiring/cable, which I'm working on sorting through now.
So enough about me for now and I look forward to gaining experience from the masters!
