New Member In Kannapolis NC Opening up a Yard.

I am a USMC Veteran with 10 years of Street level Scrapping and most of my pickups are from free advertising from craigslist, facebook, and the such. I met my Partner who is Also new to the Scrap Metal Business side of the Fence but Has been in Sitework Development most of his career. I am a Painter/Handyman by trade but also Scrap metal to keep the bills paid. We are looking to start mainly buying small scale stuff because we don't have a drive over scale yet.



I am excited at the possibility of growth and I know there will be a lot of work ahead but theres nothing sweeter then the taste of success.

If Anyone has experience running a small business buying scrap metal Id love to hear your story and maybe some helpful tips.

Welcome to the forums from a sandbar off the coast of NC, Stilt.

Read your other post also. Be sure to take advantage of the search box, an see if folks have posted in the past bout such things. Lots of reading an learning here, an it never ends. These guys are a treasured resource with all their knowledge in the scrap game, whether its cars, trucks, ac units, ewaste, etc. The folks here know their stuff, an quite a few have started from shopping curbco an now run their own businesses.

Anyhow..Good luck to you an your partner, an like in the other post you were told...HAVE CASH ON HAND for the days deals. I like your idea of being open Sundays, my cooler doesn't cause thats the day it gets to sit on the deck with me an the dogs an do nothing..but I like knowing a yard is open then!
