Finally decided to join today. I have been reading threads as a guest for weeks now. Some really great stuff on here. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with others. I am new to this business and would like to make a go of it. I have purchased some computers from an auction and have started taking them apart. I am still confused on separating the boards but will keep researching and reading.

Best thing I can tell ya is read, read, then read someMO! And ... do not be in a hurry. If you spend time doing the research, then applying the knowledge shared here, you will find yourself becoming very productive, and ... your efforts becoming profitable.

Don't beat yourself up to bad on the grading thing...It's a steep learning curve, thanks to every buyer being different. Heh. Some good info on figuring it out tho, an Mech got ya pointed in the right direction with the link.

Woah Man, slow down a bit. How much do you know about computers? Motherboards go in one pile, finger cards in another, RAM in another, CPUs in another, are ya with me so far?? If not, you should consider learning more about what you have before proceeding with the teardown. Are any of them duo-core or vintage? Did you try to fire em up?? Any questions, read and ask.

I liked southern MS. Spent a lot of time in MS through the years. First time in 66, just passin through. Went back in 70 on a little motor bike, spent the summer with a gf in Kosciusko. Late 70s thru mid 80s spent a lot of time on the coast around Biloxi and up around Columbia, Foxworth, and the Pearl River. Last time was about ten years ago, drove down to Montgomery from Nashville, singin "Your Cheatin Heart" all the way. Wound up stayin the night, drove by Hanks grave fore I left.

Anyway, welcome to SMF, did anyone mention read? Good luck man ; )

Haha, just remembered, Montgomery ain't in MS. Ohwell! I was close enough to consider going on over, but had other things on my mind ; )
